What is one of your favorite things in the internet?

sfgate.com - "Day in Pictures." I love to take a few moments and see splendid photos of what is going on around the globe. Some are funny, some are sad, but they are always good to see.

My nephew

This kid exudes pure joy. He's got so much to say, and while it's all garbled and cute right now I'm sure he'll come out singing when we finally learns to talk.

Question of the Day, 2/15/07

What subjects in school do you wish you'd paid more attention to?


Naomi's answer:
History.
Hands down winner in this category for me. I feel I paid attention to Math and English, mainly because I liked them both and was pretty good at them. History was different and it wasn't until college that I really paid more attention to it, and yet I still feel like I missed a lot. I think the current state of the world would be easier for me to understand if I had a firmer grasp on where we've been.

Flowers! I got flowers! They were delivered to me today at work. so beautiful they are.

These should all open up and bloom all week. Ahh, this pleases me so.

If you won a prize that allowed you to give 1 movie to 1,000 people, what movie would you choose?


Naomi's answer:
Mindwalk

It's a brilliant and thought-provoking film that I want everyone to watch. It's still only available on VHS, though. I saw it for the first time about 10 years ago while living in Colorado (uh, has it been 10 years?!) and I recently watched it again. It's still as powerful. Makes me want to take action and save the world, but also helps me understand how complicated that can be.

What's the best gift you've ever been given?


Naomi's answer:
Most recently it was my Grandpa Chuck agreeing to walk me down the aisle at my wedding. He hasn't traveled in years, not since my father's funeral, but he is going to fly all the way to Washington and give me away.

If my dad can't be there, this is the next best thing.

If you've got about an hour to kill, what is your favorite time waster?

Naomi's answer:
I have to confess that right now it's probably planning my upcoming wedding. It's so much fun and while mosts of the ideas will never make it to the big day, it sure is fun to fantasize. This stuff is definitely a girl's world.

Under normal circumstances I'd probably list these:
reading a really good book
reading 'Get Fuzzy' cartoons
looking back through old photographs
picturing what I'll look like in a veil (just kidding!)
